Audio Story: Oregon Softball finishes off LMU 6-0 for weekend sweep

The Oregon Ducks Softball team closed out their weekend series with Loyola Marymount early Saturday afternoon. Pitcher Jordan Dial started and pitched four innings, but it was the Ducks offense in the 3rd Inning that opened the scoring and eventually led to the easy win.

The Ducks batted in all six of their runs in the third, with a triple from from Haley Cruse to get distance the Ducks after a sluggish start. That was followed by an RBI single from Hanna Delgado. Then the flood gates started to open, as the next four batters all collected RBIs.

Senior Samaria Diaz came in for relief for Dial and kept the shutout going to a tune of five strikeouts, along with an impressive strike out when facing a bases loaded situation in the fifth inning.

Mya Felder added to the HR column as she batted in her fifth of the season, and Oregon placed its 10th shutout of the young season, finishing the series against LMU with a .74 ERA. The Ducks take on Oregon State next weekend in a four-game series.
