STORY: Oregon Football Defeats Oregon State 24-10 to Improve to 10-2

In the 123rd edition of the Civil War, Oregon led from start to finish to defeat Oregon State, 24-10. Both teams started with a field goal, making it tied 3-3 towards the end of the first quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, Mykael Wright brought it back 98 yards to put Oregon up 10-3. Not long after, Johnny Johnson hauled in a 28 yard TD pass from Justin Herbert to put the Ducks up 17-3. While it looked like the game was tipping Oregon’s direction quickly, the offense stalled for a long period and it would remain 17-3 through the third quarter. Oregon’s defense certainly came ready to play, allowing 380 total yards and just one touchdown. While Justin Herbert (18-30, 174 yards, 1 TD) and Oregon’s offense (365 total yards) didn’t have its best day, defense and special teams certainly delivered for the Ducks. Oregon State RB Jermar Jefferson narrowed the score to 17-10 with a 19-yard rush TD with 11:03 remaining, Oregon’s defense forced the big turnover on a fumble from Jefferson. Following that play, Cyrus Habibi-Likio was able to punch in a 20-yard rush TD with 1:15 to play, delivering the final dagger. With the win, Oregon closes out an undefeated season at home, moves to 10-2 on the season, and awaits either USC or Utah in the Pac-12 championship game next Friday night.
