STORY: Oregon Volleyball Shows Resiliency in 3-0 Victory over UCLA

Oregon defeated UCLA 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-16) at home on Friday. UCLA jumped out to an 11-2 lead early in set one behind 4 service aces by Jenny Mosser. Oregon used several runs to bring them all the way back into a close-set. The Ducks took its first lead of the night on set point and closed it out, 25-23. Set two was back and forth the whole way, but a late serving stretch by Elise Ferreira (18 assists, 4 digs) to take set two 26-24. With the comfort of a 2-0 lead, Oregon proceeded to have a field day in set 3 to take the set 25-16 and the 3-0 victory. Willow Johnson (11 kills, .417) led the way attacking for the Ducks, shortly followed by Brooke Nuneviller (9 kills, .348, 13 digs, 2 SA). Oregon had five players with 5 or more kills, and hit .288 as a team. Elise Ferreira (18 assists) and Kylie Robinson (19 assists) shared setting duties. Mac May (22 kills, .366) and Savvy Simo (12 kills, .278) had themselves a match for the Bruins, but no one else was able to produce significant attacking. UCLA hit just .186 as a team. With the win, Oregon moves to 2-5 in Pac-12 play and 6-10 for the season. Oregon will face USC (9-7 in Pac-12 play) at MKA at noon on Sunday.
