STORY: Cal’s 88th Minute Goal Forces 1-1 Draw vs. Oregon Soccer

For 88 minutes, Oregon Soccer looked better than the California Golden Bears, and the scoreboard reflected that. With Oregon parking the bus, California was able to score their first goal in three games, as Caitlin Carter batted Mia Corbin’s savable ball straight down, and in the net. Oregon out-shot Cal 22-17 on the night and seven of those shots for the Ducks were on goal. Cal’s goalkeeper, Angelina Anderson, statistically one of the best goalkeepers in the country with her .816 save percentage, came up clutch for Cal on multiple occasions as she totaled seven saves. The lone goal for Oregon came in the 34th minute, as Zoe Hasenauer’s left-footed shot snuck in the right side of the net. Oregon will be back in action on Sunday when they host the top-ranked Stanford Cardinal at noon.
