MBB: Second Half Takeover Propels Oregon To Victory Over ASU

An all around performance by Oregon Men’s Basketball lead to a 79-51 victory for the Ducks Thursday night.

Scoring was hard to come by for both the Ducks and Sun Devils in the first half. Over the first 10 minutes of the game Oregon shot 27% from the field and ASU shot 25%. Through those minutes Oregon only led the Sun Devils 16-10. However, Oregon got hot at the end of the first half, and shot just under 45% during the entirety of the first half to take a 34-26 lead. Louis King lead all scorers in the first half with 11 points, while Pritchard had 7 points.

In the second half the Ducks came out firing on all cylinders. Oregon scored the first 10 points in the half, and held ASU scoreless over the first 5:54 of the half. The Ducks jumped out to a 46-27 lead and never looked back, keeping the Pac-12’s leading offense, ASU, in check for the entire game. Oregon’s offense kept firing eventually increasing the lead to 25 points with just under three minutes to play. The Ducks held the Sun Devils to 3/24 from behind the arc, and  32% from the field.

Louis King lead all scorers with 19 points on 7/12 shooting, Payton Pritchard had 18 on 6/10 shooting, and Ehab Amin chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Up Next: Oregon 16-12 (7-8) take on Arizona 17-12 (8-8) on Saturday at 7pm.
