No. 17 Oregon Softball split their first day of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Thursday, February 21, taking down New Mexico State 3-1 before dropping a game to Bethune-Cookman in a 5-3 finish. Jordan Dail recorded a complete game win against the Aggies in the first game, while Maddie MacGrandle inconsistency forced Dail back into action during the second game. From the plate, Oregon struggled to find a big inning, and while three runs proved enough against NMSU, Bethune-Cookman opened up a 5-0 that the Ducks couldn’t quite carve into enough. UO returns to action on Friday at 12:30 PM vs Army, before a Texas A&M – Texas Tech double-header on Saturday and a showdown with UCSB on Sunday.
