AUDIO: Civil War Double-Header Next Challenge for No. 3 Oregon Women’s Basketball

Riding the nation’ longest winning streak at 16, tied for the program’s highest-ever ranking at No. 3 in the latest AP Poll, and boasting a perfect 12-0 record in the Pac-12, Oregon women’s basketball enters the weekend eager for another challenge. On Friday, the Ducks (23-1) will host in-state rival No. 9 Oregon State (20-4, 10-2) in Eugene before heading to Corvallis for another matchup on Monday night. The double-header features the two teams atop the conference both in record and ranking to go in addition to two of the nation’s top perimeter offenses — the Ducks are No. 1 in three-point percentage at 43.8%, and the Beavers are no. 3 at 41.7%. Plus, each matchup will be a showcase of two of the nation’s best teams vying for state supremacy. Previously dominated by Oregon State, which won 14 consecutive Civil War games until Oregon defeated the Beavers 75-64 in Eugene last season, the Ducks now are looking to begin a streak of its own in the 101st and 102nd edition of the women’s basketball Civil War. Friday night in particular will be special for Oregon in Matthew knight Arena, which the school announced was sold out for just the second time in the program’s history. The first was MKA’s first meeting between Oregon and Oregon State. Listen below as head coach Kelly Graves and the Ducks preview the matchups.
