MBB | Southern Oregon Squashes NCU’s Senior Night Comeback Effort

Despite cutting a 19-point deficit to five with under three minutes remaining in regulation, Northwest Christian (18-9) dropped Saturday night’s matchup to Southern Oregon (18-9), 87-76.

The Raiders used a 17-2 run at the end of the first half, and to open up the second half, to upset the Beacons, who narrowly defeated them 108-104 on January 11th. Tristen Holmes led Southern Oregon with 17 points on 8-11 shooting, while Teron Bradford followed shortly behind with 16 points on 6-9 shooting. The Raiders dominated the boards, outrebounding NCU 41-26.

NCU’s Austin Tyner poured in 17 points, enough to make him only the 10th Beacon to ever score 1000 career points. Tyrus Hosley delivered 17 points as well, on 7-14 from the field.

Coming up, NCU will travel to Corbin University in Salem on February 16th, where the Beacons will complete their regular season.
