FB | Oregon Football Finishes Non-Conference Undefeated After Sloppy SJSU Win

No. 20 Oregon Football finished their non-conference slate undefeated with a 35-22 victory over San Jose State on Saturday, September 15, but struggled to put away the pesky Spartans all afternoon. Both ground games struggled, contributing to an overall sloppy game; San Jose State rushed for 29 yards on 28 carries, averaging just over a yard per carry, while the Ducks toted the ball 49 times but averaged just 2.7 per carry en route to 134 yards on the ground. It also was not the cleanest night for Heisman trophy hopeful Justin Herbert, whose 16-34 night produced 309 yards through the air and 3 passing touchdowns, but also 2 San Jose State picks. However, on top of their performance against the run, Oregon’s defense sacked the quarterback six times and held the Spartans to 296 yards of offense. While the Ducks move to 3-0 after the win, no. 9 Stanford (3-0) comes into Eugene on
