SB: Oregon Blasts Six Home Runs, Defeats Arizona State 9-1 to take Series

No. 3 Oregon softball crushed six home runs en route to a 9-1 victory over No. 7 Arizona State on Saturday night in Tempe, Arizona. The Ducks recorded 13 hits (nine of which were extra base hits) and scored in five of the team’s seven offensive innings while starting pitcher Miranda Elish allowed just one run on four hits while striking out 12 Sun Devils and walking none. The win is Oregon’s eighth in a row and with the Washington Huskies idle again on Saturday due to rain, the Ducks are now a half game back of first place in the Pac-12 standings at 9-2. Coupled with the loss on Friday, Arizona State has lost consecutive games for the first time this season and Saturday’s eight-run difference is the largest loss of the season for the Sun Devils. Oregon goes for the series sweep on Sunday at noon.
