SB: Oregon Survives a Late Comeback by UCLA, and Wins 7-5

Through 5 full innings, Miranda Elish and the Oregon offense were all over the UCLA Bruins, up 7-0. Elish had been throwing one of her most impressive starts of the year, limiting the Bruins to just 1 hit through 5 innings. Rachel Garcia changed that narrative, unloading a 2 run shot to left field in the 6th. Elish surrendered a second big fly, this time to Aaliyah Jordan, in the top of the 7th frame to cut the Ducks lead to 2. However, strong offensive outings from Gwen Svekis and Mary Iakopo, both of whom reached base 3 times in the ballgame, was enough for Oregon to hang on and defeat UCLA. The rubber game between these two squads will commence tomorrow at Jane Sanders Stadium, with first pitch at 2 PM.
