WBB: Ducks Survive Trojans in Double OT Thriller, Despite 24 Turnovers

The Ducks were able to squeeze by the USC Trojans, but it took two extra overtime periods and a perfect 12-12 from the field from sophomore sensation, Ruthy Hebard, to beat the Trojans, 80-74. The Ducks had 24 turnovers throughout the game, including 10in the first half. Luckily, Ruthy Hebard was 12-12 breaking the NCAA record of 30 consecutive field goals. Hebard had 27 points on the night to go alongside 10 rebounds. Senior guard, Lexi Bando, had 11 points on the night, but her biggest contribution came with 42.7 seconds remaining in the second overtime when she nailed a three pointer that bounced on the top of the backboard and in with the shot clock expiring to put the game out of reach. Sabrina Ionescu was cold from the field shooting 4-15 and 1-8 from beyond the arc, but nonetheless recorded 15 points and 9 assists. The Ducks improve to 24-4 on the season and 13-2 in Pac 12 play, while the Trojans fall to 17-9 on the season and 7-8 in league play. The Ducks look to remain in first place as they take on the UCLA Bruins on February 19th at Matthew Knight Arena at 7 p.m.
