WBB: Stanford steals a win from Ducks, 78-65.

Oregon Women’s Basketball fell to the Stanford Cardinal,78-65, in front of a packed Matthew Knight Arena on Super Bowl Sunday. The Ducks have lost just their second game in Pac 12 play and fourth overall. Furthermore, Oregon is now accompanied by the Cardinal at the top of the Pac 12 standings with both schools placing a conference record of ten wins and two losses. Oregon standout guard, Sabrina Ionescu, led the team in scoring with 22 points while Ruthy Hebard and Satou Sabally weren’t far behind, scoring sixteen and fourteen, respectively. The Ducks’ deficit came from an astounding fifteen turnovers, in which 8 were from steals. Stanford capitalized on the offensive end led by senior guard, Brittany McPhee, who pummeled the Ducks with 33 points, shooting 14-22 from the field. Oregon will get the chance to regain their sole spot atop the Pac 12 standings Friday in Seattle against the Washington Huskies at 8 p.m. PST.
