MBB: Ducks Blow 18-point lead, but hang on to beat UCLA 94-91

After a disappointing loss to USC on Thursday, Oregon looked to turn things around at home against UCLA on Saturday night. The Ducks played their most complete half of the season in the opening 20 minutes of the game. They shot 55 percent from the field, committed no turnovers, and held Wooden Award hopefull Aaron Holiday to one point. The Ducks led 52-38 at the half. The second half was not as smooth, however, as the Ducks committed four turnovers in the first five minutes to allow UCLA to cut the lead to eight points. With five minutes remaining in the game, UCLA began a 12-2 run that resulted in a two-point Oregon lead with one minute remaining. Time, however, was not on the Bruin’s side and the Ducks won 94-91. Payton Pritchard lead all scorers with 25 points, but Oregon Freshman Victor Bailey Jr. was the story of the game, scoring 18 points (including 15 in the first half) including three three-pointers. Oregon’s next game is at home against Oregon State on Saturday, January 27.
