Ionescu’s Triple-Double Helps Duck’s Bounce Back in Win

The Oregon women’s basketball team led wire to wire in a blowout of Ole Miss, 90-46, Sunday afternoon. Despite shooting a measly 21% from beyond the arc, the Ducks were able to rally behind a strong rebounding performance and a dominant interior presence, posting up 58 points down on the block. The Duck’s relied heavily on the offensive balance of their starters, earning double-digit scoring figures from each.The Duck’s victory was headlined by Sabrina Ionescu’s sensational stat-line of 21 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists. Ruthy Hebard also delivered a double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals. With her 7th triple double of her young career, Ionescu finds herself atop the list of all time Pac-12 triple-double leaders passing Nicole Powell’s record of 6 from her days at Stanford. With conference play opening up in a few days against Washington State, Ionescu will have an opportunity to break the all-time NCAA triple-double recordĀ  despite only having sophomore standing.
