STORY: Kani Benoit’s Sacrifice, Talent Lead to Career Game

The Oregon Ducks have one of the deepest backfields in the nation. Leading the running back unit is potential Heisman candidate Royce Freeman. The talent doesn’t stop there, though, for the Ducks. Behind Freeman, Oregon boasts two other running backs that could likely start at a number of other schools. Tony Brooks-James, who was voted as the team’s most outstanding offensive player a season ago, sits at the second-string spot. Behind him is Kani Benoit, who rushed for career highs in both yards and touchdowns Week 1 against Southern Utah. Not only was Benoit’s talent on display with his three-touchdown game, but also the running back unit’s patience and sacrifice as a whole.
