Kleist Pitches Oregon Past Kentucky in Game 1 of the Super Regionals

The Oregon Duck Softball team took down Kentucky 4-0 on Friday afternoon, taking a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-three Super Regional series. Megan Kleist set the tone for Oregon, pitching a complete game and surrendering only three hits while striking out eight as Kentucky failed to convert any offense. Gwen Svekis gave the Ducks the lead in the bottom of the third on a RBI single and that’s all it would take, though Oregon pushed across three more runs in the sixth to solidify the win. The Ducks now sit just one victory away from advancing to the 2017 Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, and will take on Kentucky tomorrow in Game 2 of the Super Regionals.
