BSB: UCLA Holds Ducks to Four-Hit Shutout, 6-0

The Oregon Ducks did not have a runner reach second base until the ninth inning. With two potential MLB first-rounders (UCLA’s Griffin Canning and Oregon’s David Peterson) taking the mound, the hits for both offenses would be few-and-far-between. It would be a matter of who made the most mistakes and at what point could those mistakes come back to hurt the team. Canning had all the answers for the Ducks offense going the full nine innings, accumulating 10 strikeouts, and surrendering only four hits. David Peterson’s final start at PK Park becomes another loss and an inconsequential smudge on what would be considered a storybook book season for the six-foot-six southpaw. The Ducks will play the Bruins tomorrow at 6pm at PK Park.
