Football: Team Free Dominates Team Brave in Annual Spring Game

The annual Oregon Football Spring Game took place on Saturday, April 29th at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore. The game featured Team Free and Team Brave. The big names stood out on both sides of the ball, with quarterback Justin Herbert and wide receiver Darren Carrington (both Team Free members) connected for three touchdowns and 116 yards. Herbert finished 16-26 with 327 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Running back Royce Freeman joined Herbert in the Team Free backfield and rushed for 43 yards on on 12 attempts. Fellow running back Kani Benoit ran for a total of 109 yards, including a 95-yard touchdown run. For Team Brave, quarterback Travis Jonsen finished 5-15 for 86 yards and freshman Braxton Burmeister completed just three of seven passes for 63 yards. Running back Tony Brooks-James was a workhorse for Team Brave, rushing the ball 24 times for 83 yards and a score. He also caught three passes for 43 yards.
